The white-sand coastline provides a gorgeous setting for the hip clubs, restaurants, and hotels that have made Miami one of the hottest nightclub areas in the world. Known as the cruise capital of the world, Miami’s convenient location and year-round beach weather make it the perfect jumping-off point for a tropical vacation. Whether it’s a short cruise to the Bahamas or a longer sailing around the islands of the Caribbean, Miami is an exciting departure port for an unforgettable cruise. However, depending on the size of the ship, they could be farther from entertainment and dining areas. On big ships, there may be 10 or even more flights of stairs between your cabin and the pool, sun deck, buffet, and other amenities found at the top of the ship. There will be elevators, of course, but you should expect queues at busy times.

With its sleek lines and an aesthetic inspired by ocean liners, it’s no wonder that the bar earned its fitting moniker, the “Cruise Room,” seamlessly whisking patrons away on a voyage of style and nostalgia. The Cruise Room is an iconic bar and lounge located in the Oxford Hotel in Lower Downtown (LoDo) Denver, Colorado. It is the longest operating bar in Denver, opening its doors on a very special day of December 5, 1933. For clothing, you’ll find designer boutiques at Bal Harbor, and more clothing stores along Collins Avenue or Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. You’ll also find some shopping with an international flair in Little Havana or along historic Española Way in Miami Beach. It’s not hard to find places to shop in Miami, but if there’s a particular type of shop you’re after, certain areas of the city are best.

Your cruise itinerary might also influence your choice of accommodation. For scenic cruises, such as those in Alaska or the Norwegian fjords, a balcony might be worth the splurge to enjoy the magnificent views in relative peace. A balcony breakfast while sailing along a fjord will be an experience to remember. If you have more flexibility in your budget, consider what’s important to you in accommodation. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your cabin, you might value a balcony or a spacious room more.

Welcome back to our monthly Dig Into Denver series. The city offers a lot of options depending on your needs. Try a hotel in South Beach, about 10 minutes from the port. Try the downtown or Brickell areas which are nearby but also have a lot to do.

Upon landing, you can get local information at the airport, where you’ll also find a bank, post office, pharmacy, baggage storage, ATM, and car rental companies. For a fun shopping mall experience with a quintessential Miami vibe, head to Bayside Marketplace. This mall has open-air walkways leading to over 100 shops. At this mall, you’ll also find restaurants and bars, street performers and live music, and even a launchpad for boat tours along the Miami coastline. The culture of Miami has been largely influenced by the influx of immigrants to the city over the past 80 years, giving it an intriguing multicultural scene that extends to the arts, music, beach, and nightlife.

Bargain shoppers who love a great deal on luxury finds will enjoy a day of shopping at Dolphin Mall, which is an outlet mall located close to Miami International Airport. Embrace the kitsch of Key West, a quirky coastal town in Florida with a fun, laidback attitude and excellent snorkeling opportunities. Paddle around its mangroves on a kayak, dive into its coral reefs rich with marine life, and finish off your day in the sun with a refreshing slice of the city’s famous key lime pie. Tropical bliss awaits in the Bahamas, where you’ll spend a day lounging on powdery white sand and dipping in warm turquoise waters. Sample some of the best rum in the world, feast on the freshest of seafood, or go snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea, where you’ll see colorful schools of fish and sea turtles. Cabins on middle floors offer the best combination of access to facilities and less movement in the event of rough seas.

You can also just book the ride at check-in for $10. If you’re looking to wine and dine where the walls have a story to tell, take a cruise through time at Denver’s longest-running bar, The Cruise Room. This iconic bar is located in the historic Oxford Hotel in LoDo and offers a renowned getaway in the heart of the city.

Aloft Miami-BrickellIn our opinion, this hotel just screams Miami. It’s hip, modern, and trendy, with a vibe that’s bright and colorful just like the city. Stay here and you’ll be just south of downtown and all that it has to offer. The trolley car route runs just a block from the hotel. Hop on for free and then you can be in the port without having to worry about any shuttle. YVE HotelThis hotel is right on Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami and just about five minutes from the port.

Located within the Oxford Hotel in Lower Downtown (LoDo) Denver, the Cruise Room is a relic of post-prohibition glamor. With its art deco aesthetic, moody red lighting, and a jukebox of jazz music, patrons can step into the past while enjoying posh cocktails in their intimate black booths or at the adjacent bar. Move over Vegas, Denver’s got a new sultry cabaret taking center stage. So, for Anthony Magliano, founder and executive creative director of Quixotic, it made sense to bring Sensatia to Denver. If you’re embarking on one of our cruises from Miami and you don’t live within driving distance to the port, there’s a good chance you’re flying into Miami International Airport (MIA).

Cool off this summer with beer and live music while helping a great cause! Sofar Sounds is known as a music events company, but once you hear their whole story, you’ll realize it’s not just a business — it’s a movement. Putting on the highest quality and most unique shows around Denver is a big part of what they do, but beyond that, Sofar Sounds serves artists, connects fans and grows the local music community in 400 cities around the world.
